Our ingredient philosophy
Every formula starts with one test: does this material earn its place in the ritual? We keep the supplier list short, and we would rather explain a trade-off than dress an ingredient up to sound cleaner than it is.
- Vegan — every candle, soap, and lotion we make.
- No SLS, SLES, parabens, or phthalates in anything you put on your skin or spray in your home.
- Every fragrance checked against IFRA usage limits before production.
- Two aromatic sources — whole essential oils and compounded fragrance oils — chosen scent by scent, never as a blanket rule.
- Mixed and poured by hand, in batches small enough that we notice when something is off.
The candle itself
A custom coconut, apricot, and soy wax, built for a single even pour. A UV stabilizer keeps colored and clear candles from fading, and the blend resists the frosting and wet spots that plague all-natural waxes. It is not paraffin-free: that small paraffin content is what gives it a clean melt pool and carries scent across a room instead of trapping it near the flame.
Braided cotton wick, free of lead and zinc, shaped to curl into the flame so it stays trimmed on its own.
Where our scents come from
Two libraries, and the choice between them is about what the scent needs rather than which is better. A cedarwood should smell like cedarwood; a gourmand needs a lab.
- Whole essential oils — cedarwood, Bulgarian lavender, clary sage, geranium, ginger, ylang ylang, eucalyptus — from a dedicated essential oil house, for notes that should stay true to the plant.
- Compounded fragrance oils from two labs specializing in candle- and skin-safe formulation, for the notes no single plant holds: gourmands (vanilla, pink sugar, chocolate), woods and resins (sandalwood, frankincense, myrrh, hinoki cypress), atmospherics (sea salt and orchid, beach linen, Himalayan bamboo), and layered florals (rose, jasmine, orange blossom, bergamot, juniper).
Perfume, body mist & room spray
Water-based, with no alcohol in it. Alcohol sprays open sharp and fade fast; this base lets the scent arrive immediately and sit gently on skin without drying it. It carries our oils from a light mist up to a true eau de toilette strength, and is free of added alcohol, parabens, and phthalates throughout.
Room and linen sprays share that base. The odor-eliminating spray is a separate formula, made to break odor down at the source rather than layer a new scent over it.
Reed diffusers
A purpose-built carrier pulls fragrance steadily up through natural reeds, so the throw holds for weeks instead of fading in the first few days. Blended in-house, with the ratio tested against the room each scent is meant for.
Soap & lotion
Liquid soap on a COSMOS-certified castile base — organic coconut oil, high-oleic sunflower oil, and plant-derived glycerin, with no SLS or SLES anywhere in it. Lotion on a light, fast-absorbing COSMOS-certified base. Both arrive unscented; we finish them by hand from our fragrance library.
