Crown is the lightest and the highest. Lavender leads, cool and quiet, and lemon opens the top so the blend sits above the room rather than in it; jasmine and rose pass through the middle without settling, juniper keeps the air thin, and sandalwood, frankincense and myrrh hold the base — worn thin here, more a memory of incense than the thing itself. It is the closing scent of the house: restful without being sleepy, clean without being sharp. For evenings, quiet rooms, and the last hour before bed.
